a too-big cami,
and a mama who likes sew?
A Wonder Woman dress, of course!
Using one of Big Sister's spaghetti-strap tanks as a guide, I cut the cami down quite a bit. I realized later that I hadn't really accounted for the lack of stretch in this knit. It turned out to be a Beautiful Oops (have you read this fantastic book?), because it led me to put a row of stars down each sides. And it's unquestionably better that way.
I used my coverstitch machine and binder to make new straps. And I added a half-circle skirt, which has just the right amount of twirl.
I don't have many photos of this dress in action, but it was clearly a hit at the July 4th parade (we had so much fun last year that we went back again this year, but only as spectators).
